Athens International Airport "Eleftherios Venizelos", commonly initialized as "AIA", began operation on 28 March 2001 and is the primary international airport that serves the city of Athens and the region of Attica. It is Greece's busiest airport.

By metro

The airport is accessible via Metro Line 3 “Aghia Marina - Athens International Airport”.With this line you can change on other lines such as line 1 on Monastiraki Station or you can change on line 2 on Syntagma Station.

There are a lot of tickets options with various prices to make your trip more flexible.There are also airport tickets which is valid for line 1, 2 and 3.Find the best fare for your trip here.
You can buy tickets using the Automatic Ticket Issuing Machines (ATIMs) in all METRO and TRAM Stations and from Ticket Offices. ATIMs, having the option to accept banknotes and give change, are installed in all stations. Please validate your ticket before you board the train.

By suburban train

Athens International Airport is connected via the Suburban Rail with Athens Central Railway Station (Larissis Station).A railway station is immediately adjacent to the airport terminal, accessible by an elevated walkway.The line connects directly Athens International Airport to the Athens’ centre, as well as to Piraeus, with frequent daily schedules every hour.
The line connects directly Athens International Airport to the railway station of Athens «Larisa station», where there are  connections to all routes of the Intercity Network.For more info you can check OASA website.

By bus

Four bus routes connect directly Athens and Piraeus with the airport. All buses set down passengers at the Departures Level and depart from the Arrivals Level, between Exits 4 and 5.
X95  Syntagma - Athens Airport
Bus X95 takes you directly to Athens city center (Syntagma square). Many ancient monument are in a walking distance from there: the Acropolis and the Parthenon, the Acropolis museum, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Roman Market and much more.
X96  Piraeus - Athens Airport
This is the bus to use is you plan to take a ferry from Piraeus to the greek islands (Santorin, Mykonos, Paros, Kos, Crete, Rhodes etc.). It takes about 90 min from Athens airport to Piraeus depending on the traffic. However its a nice route if you have the time.
X93  Kifisou avenue - Athens Airport
Connects Athens airport with Athens intercity bus station. The trip takes about 65 min. This bus route is the only way to reach the intercity bus station besides taxi. It departs every 40 minutes. Be careful not to confuse the name of this bus with that of bus X92.
X97  Elliniko - Athens Airport
This route connects Athens Airport with Elliniko metro station. See map, blue line. It departs every 40 to 60 minutes.
